At First Christian Church Tyler, Texas, we’re thinking big about our future – years into our future! And we need two called and gifted leaders, to help reach our vision.
As we grow in numbers of young families, youth and children, we’re seeking Directors of Ministries geared to these groups. Our desire is to find just the right people to love, support, guide and nurture our children and youth (and their adults!) into the full life of the church, into increasing spiritual maturity, and into a Christian faith they claim as their own.
We want leaders passionate about relationships and programs, both -- people who love God, who possess a teachable spirit, who get excited about building kinship and community in the name of Jesus the Christ.
First Christian Church is a congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with over 100 years of ministry and history in Tyler. We have an active congregation of 500 members averaging 200+ worshipers a week, even in COVID times.
In 2015, we completed a major renovation of our campus that has allowed us to hold concurrent worship services on Sundays - one with a traditional format and one with a contemporary feel – that has given us comfortable and convenient public spaces to share, has invigorated and modernized our children’s wing, and has kept our location vital to our community. Our Senior Minister, Dr. Chris Pulliam, has served here for nearly twelve years and our Associate Pastor, Reverend Ginger Brandt, has served here for nine years.
